Potting soil (well-draining)
Water
A bright indoor location
Add Soil
Fill the clay pot with potting soil, leaving enough room so the bulbs sit comfortably without being buried too deep.
Place the Bulbs
Position the two bulbs in the pot with the pointed end facing up.
The top third of each bulb should remain above the soil.
Fill Around the Bulbs
Gently add soil around the bulbs to hold them in place. Do not cover the tops completely.
Water Lightly
Water once after planting to settle the soil.
After that, water only when the soil feels dry to the touch.
Choose the Right Spot
Place the pot in a bright location with indirect light and normal room temperature.
Growth usually begins within 1–3 weeks
Flower stems appear first, followed by large red blooms
Each bulb grows at its own pace—this is normal
Do not overwater
Avoid direct sunlight
Turn the pot occasionally to keep growth balanced
Color: Red
Bulb Size: 28/30
Once the flowers fade, cut the flower stalk down to about 1–2 inches above the bulb.
Do not cut the leaves — they are essential for storing energy.
Place the pot in a bright location with indirect light.
Avoid direct sun and cold drafts.
Water when the top inch of soil feels dry.
Do not let the pot sit in standing water.
During the growing season, you may fertilize lightly (about once a month) with a balanced houseplant fertilizer.
The leaves help recharge the bulb for future blooms.
Allow them to grow naturally for several months.
In late summer or early fall, watering can be reduced.
Leaves will yellow and die back — this is normal.
Allow the bulb to rest before encouraging the next bloom cycle.
With proper care and patience, potted amaryllis can bloom again in a future season.
Rebloom timing varies and is not guaranteed.
