Five Fun Facts about Amaryllis:

  1. Waxed bulbs don't need water to grow!

    If you are looking for a low-maintenance plant, look no further than Amaryllis – they don't need to be watered at all! Our waxed amaryllis bulbs don't need water or soil, because the wax holds in their moisture, and the bulb has all the nutrients they need to bloom. 

  2.  Amaryllis flowers represent beauty and love.

    According to Greek mythology, the flowers sprung up from the blood of the nymph, Amaryllis. The beautiful blooms helped her win his heart. This ancient flowers means beauty and love today.

  3.  They come in so many more colors than red and white!

    Our giant amaryllis bulbs come in shades from the darkest boldest red (Carance) to variegated petals blending white and subtle shades of pink (Apple Blossom) or coral (Minerva.) Check out all our current varieties here.

  4. The size of the Amaryllis bulb matters.

    Bulbs are storage vessels, and the bigger the bulb, the more stored energy it has. Compared to other flower bulbs, Amaryllis bulbs are huge. Bloomaker's bulbs are among the largest and sourced directly from our fields in Peru. It takes 2 to 3 years for the bulbs to grow large enough to meet Bloomaker's standards. Our bulbs are 28+ centimeters in circumference and typically yield 2 to 3 stalks, each with 3 to 4 flowers.

  5. Amaryllis rebloom every year!

    With proper care, you can keep these bulbs growing year after year. Once your Bloomaker Giant Amaryllis has finished blooming, you can keep it alive and achieve a rebloom by following our tips here. IN REGARDS TO OUR WAXED GIANT AMARYLLIS: While saving and replanting your Waxed Amaryllis bulb is a little trickier and not guaranteed to work, it is also possible!
