Make Bloomaker’s Face Shields

front-mask.jpg

At the end of March, we paused some of the normal production in our Waynesboro, VA facilities and began making face shields for local hospitals and first responders.

With PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) shortages being a concern for those on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic throughout the country, we believed it was important to do our part in making sure our local heroes were well equipped.

While we have been able to make and donate thousands of face shields, our production is still limited due to the resources we have available. However, we hope that our story will inspire other community members and businesses to lend a hand in similar ways so that together, we can all successfully support all those who are working to keep us safe and healthy during this challenging time. With that in mind, we wanted to share the open source model and supplies we have been using so that if others want to join us in this production, they are able!

Supplies We Use:

  1. Foam strips 1” x 1” x 8”

  2. Staples

  3. Plastic sheet 10 mill 2 corners rounded.

  4. Elastic band 1” wide by 12”

Instructions:

This is the open source model we have been using.

We would like to thank all the health care professionals who are working tirelessly to manage COVID-19, and our hearts go out to all those impacted by this pandemic. We hope everyone is able to stay safe and as well as can be expected during this time. Thank you for your continued support of our company.
